About the Session:
The Stairs is an award-winning documentary about the survival of the street involved community in Regent Park. The film graphically explores experiences of homelessness, sex work, and substance use through a harm reduction lens. Marty, ( a Principal character in The Stairs): Over 20 years of drug use and homelessness qualified Marty for a peer training program. A decade later he’s a full-time harm reduction worker. Greg, (a Principal character in The Stairs): Drug use, homelessness, and drug-related crimes led Greg to peer work which in turn led him to employment at a community health centre.
